TURKEY-EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION
TPIC holds 15 exploration blocks in Turkey. Sambayat-1 (Adiyaman) well located in the XII. Gaziantep Petroleum Exploration Region has been producing oil since September 2008.
COLOMBIA- EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION
Gonzalez Block
In 2007, TPIC entered and won Colombia’s national oil company ECOPETROL’s tender for the Gonzalez Exploration Block and was awarded the license with a 50 percent stake as the operator. In the Gonzalez Block 2D seismic acquisition was completed and prospect evaluation studies are ongoing. In 2009, TPIC signed a Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) with ECOPETROL and by the end of 2009 one exploration well will be drilled.
Gonzalez RWZ-3 Well
TPIC has been conducting joint exploration activities with its partner ECOPETROL, National Oil Company of Colombia, in Gonzalez Block in Catatumbo Basin in Colombia. The Operator of the Block is TPIC and the each partners has 50 % participating interest in the project.
In Gonzalez Block Exploration Project, 2D seismic acquisition and processing were completed in 2008 then the location of the first exploration well, Rio Zulia West – 3, was determined by partners after the evaluation of all available data.
Rio Zulia West – 3 with a TD of 3325m (10910 ft) was spudded on November 5, 2009. The drilling operations are expected to last 2 months.
Maria Conchita Block
Within the initiatives made in 2008, an Exploration and Production agreement between Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) and a consortium of TPIC and Multiservicios RJT LTDA was signed in 2009 for the Maria Conchita Block. Environmental Impact Assessment studies are ongoing and in the second half of 2009, seismic data acquisition and process studies will be initiated. By 2010, completion of 3D seismic data acquisition, process and interpretation are anticipated. TPIC has a 51% stake in the project and serves as the operator, while Genel Enerji holds 40% and Multiservicios 9%.
IRAQ - Feasibility Study
Iraq Qasab Field
In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on May 3, 2006 between TPIC and Iraqi Ministry of Oil, a joint feasibility study for the development of Qasab Oil Field was agreed upon. In this context, geophysical, geological and reservoir modeling studies were completed by TPIC’s technical evaluation team with our colleagues from the Iraqi Ministry of Oil.
